Happy Fathers Day! I truly pray that you can take advantage of “Daddy being home” during these unprecedented times. Sometimes God presents us with opportunities and it’s up to us to see them. For me, Father’s day is another reminder of the heavenly responsibility we have to our children. One example of this is in Proverbs where the bible tells us to:
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
I know right now there is a lot of change going on in the world, but change can mean opportunity, In my life before COVID 19, I had to travel for work ALOT, and was never home! To be honest the suitcase always stayed packed and I would hear from the kids “where are you going now, Daddy???”. I missed so much of their lives because I was never home. I would depend on everyone else to help train up my children….
I can’t speak for you but for me, I see this as an opportunity God has given us to be present in their lives…Not only train them but to LOVE on them and pour into them. Just like it tells us in Deuteronomy 6:5-9
5You shall LOVE the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
I am seeing major growth in my relationship with my kids and also the relationship they have with God. Simply because through all the worry, all the stress, all the work from home, school from home, gymnastics from home, God is giving us this great opportunity because…………….. Daddy is Home…
I wanted to just encourage you this Father’s day, see what opportunities God is giving you, and Seize the moment, Be PRESENT, and Be HOME!
I love you all and pray that you and your families are safe!
Your Brother in Christ,
